Frequently asked questions
What exactly counts as a "computer"?
Any machine that registers with your Traffic Cop server โ typically one per developer workstation or build server. If a machine is turned off and not connected, it's not using a seat. The server tracks active connections, so you only pay for what's actually in use.
Can I add or remove seats during a subscription?
Yes. You can adjust your seat quantity at any time through the Stripe billing portal linked in your license email. Changes are prorated automatically โ add a machine mid-month and you're only charged for the remaining days.
What's the difference between LAN Team and LAN + WAN?
LAN Team is for teams on the same local network โ same office, same building. LAN + WAN adds an encrypted relay server so developers on different networks (home offices, different cities) can coordinate just as seamlessly. No VPN required.
How does the license key work?
When you purchase, you'll receive a license key by email within a few seconds. Paste it into the Traffic Cop installer or config file during setup. Keys are cryptographically signed with Ed25519 โ no phone-home required, no internet connection needed to validate.
What happens when my license expires?
Monthly subscriptions auto-renew. If payment fails, the server falls back to Free tier limits (1 computer). Your data and configuration are never deleted โ just re-enter a valid key to restore full access.
Is the Cowork skill really free?
Yes, always. The skill that Claude uses to communicate with Traffic Cop is open source and has no paywall. You only need a license for the coordination server itself.
See the docs for the free skill setup.
Do you offer refunds?
If Traffic Cop doesn't work as described within 7 days of purchase, email
[email protected] and we'll sort it out. No runaround.
